Why use Spirulina for dogs?

Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae that is rich in nutrients, including protein, vitamins, and minerals. Some potential health benefits of feeding spirulina to dogs may include:

  1. Immune system support: Spirulina contains antioxidants, which can help support a healthy immune system.

  2. Skin and coat health: Spirulina may help improve the appearance and condition of a dog's skin and coat.

  3. Energy and vitality: The protein and other nutrients in spirulina can help provide energy and support overall health and well-being.

  4. Digestive health: Spirulina may help support digestive health by providing fiber and other nutrients that can support the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut.

It's important to note that while spirulina may offer some potential health benefits, it is not a substitute for a balanced diet and proper veterinary care. It is always best to consult with a veterinarian before adding any new supplements to your dog's diet.

    What is Spirulina platensis?

Spirulina is a microalgae that grows naturally in mineral-rich alkaline lakes and can be found growing on every continent in the world. The largest concentrations of naturally growing spirulina can be found at Lake Texcoco in Mexico, around Lake Chad in Central Africa and along the Great Rift Valley in east Africa.

Spirulina is considered to be one of the oldest life forms on earth and commonly used by the ancient Aztec tribes to help with endurance.

Borvo Nutrients' Spirulina is grown in closed system photobioreactors, which means that it's a completely sustainable method of cultivation and does not impact natural supplies or the eco-systems in which Spirulina grows.

    Good! My dog loves it

I give spirulina daily to my dog because he’s an active bordercollie who uses lots of energy and I want him to be strong and have a good immune system when taking him on long hikes.
He loves it when I use it on his kibble. I can see he is more balanced

    Good fur and tummy

After the first week of using the spirulina I can already see a solid improvement in my dogs gastrointestinal health. The stool is firm and healthy and he shows less signs of pain or uncomfortableness. He doesn’t stretches his tummy that often.
His fur is still very shiny and in good health, less shedding.

Game changer for my senior dog

I started feeding this to my 12 year old golden retriever about 6 weeks ago after having good results with some of the other seaweed products on this site. Since then, the results have been astonishing. She is more energetic, more playful and overall just feels like she has an extra lease of life.
